Horizon Technologies Unveils Its New Plug and Play ISR “XPOD” on L3’s Longsword Light Attack Aircraft at SOFIC 2018

London, UK SOFIC 2018 marks the first time Horizon Technologies’ Plug and Play ISR XPOD has been shown publicly. Horizon Technologies’ XPOD is shown mounted on L3’s Longsword Light Attack Aircraft which was on display at SOFIC 2018 in Tampa, Florida. Due to its low cost and mission flexibility, XPOD garnered great interest at the show as it can be adapted for numerous aircraft types: C-208s, King Airs, and C-130s.

XPOD is currently offered with EO/IR, FlyingFish™ SIGINT, L3’s CDML, and AIS.  An upgraded version is under development which will offer additional SIGINT capabilities, Micro ESM (including fingerprinting), and a lightweight ground surveillance radar.

The XPOD allows any aircraft with a hardpoint/weapons station to become a powerful SIGINT platform with no aircraft modifications. According to John Beckner, Owner/Director, Horizon Technologies, “A more advanced version of the XPOD will be on display in July at the Farnborough Air Show in the UK and we are in the process of arranging customer demonstrations once our air-worthiness qualification process is complete.”

Come see it in person at the Farnborough International Airshow 16-22 July 2018!
